Man in court for Despatch murder

Quick action by Uitenhage police led to the arrest a murder suspect who appeared in court on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gerda Swart, says 40-year-old Patrick Jordaan, appeared in the Uitenhage Magistrate's Court on Tuesday for the murder of 22-year-old Adriaan Minus in Despatch on Sunday evening.

He was stabbed in the chest and later died in the Uitenhage Provincial Hospital.

Swart says Jordaan was released on bail of 500 rand and his case remanded to the 28th of January.
