A 51 year-old man from the Patensie area was arrested in connection with the alleged rape of two minor girls.
Sergeant Majola Nkohli said the man, who may not be named until he has pleaded, was arrested last Friday following an investigation by Humansdorp's Family Violence, Sexual Offences and Child Protection Unit.
He has already made his first court appearance and is expected to apply for bail on Monday.
Majola said the man is alleged to have raped two girls, aged 11 and 14, over a period of time.
The circumstances are still being withheld and more details are expected to emerge during his bail application.
Majola said the State is expected to oppose bail.
