A 47-year-old man from Jeffrey's Bay accused of selling drugs from his hair salon in town made a brief appearance in the Humansdorp Magistrates Court on Tuesday where he was remanded in custody.
Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says Juma Said Kumkana was arrested over the weekend and is charged with dealing in crystal meth and dagga.
Kumkana was arrested after police received information about a hair salon in Salamander Street that was believed to be selling illicit drugs.
Police swooped in on the unsuspecting owner and seized several small plastic bags of dagga and crystal meth hidden in various compartments in the salon.
The street value of the drugs is estimated to be R10 000.
Nkohli says police also seized R800 in cash, which was hidden with the drugs.
The case against Kumkana was postponed to the 13th of August where he is expected to apply for bail.
