Two suspects are on the run following the murder of a 37-year-old man in his farmhouse near the old Saasveld Road in George on Monday.
Although details of the incident are still sketchy, a family spokesperson told the George Herald that the suspects entered the house at around 22:10 just after load shedding started.
They allegedly threatened the deceased's wife with a firearm demanding money, cell phones and keys to the safe.
The spokesperson says an altercation between the deceased and the suspects ensued and the deceased was shot.
He sustained a bullet wound to his head and died on the scene.
The suspects fled with two cell phones and a laptop.
The deceased lived in the house with his wife and in-laws and his identity has not yet been released.
