A Gqeberha homeowner is in a stable condition in hospital after being shot in the buttocks during a house robbery on Tuesday morning.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Kabega Park SAPS attended to a house robbery complaint at a home on Friesland Street in Rowallan Park.
She says it is alleged that unknown suspects broke one of the windows in the house to gain entry at about 1.35 am.
Colonel Naidu says the complainant and his wife were woken up by the noise and went to the lounge where they saw two men exiting their house with their TV, phones, jackets and laptops.
She says when they spotted the couple a shot was fired injuring the victim in his right buttocks.
The estimated value of the stolen goods is estimated to be R70 000.
The suspects fled on foot and are still at large.
