Police in Despatch are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man was discovered in Perseverance on Sunday morning.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says police responded to the crime scene at an open field, next to Greeffs farm in Eland Street.
She says the man had open wounds to the head and his body was partially burnt.
Police are trying to identify the victim and hope that someone with information will come forward.
The victim was dressed in blue jeans, a black T-shirt and grey striped socks with no shoes.
