A Cape Town man has plummeted to his death while working on a cellphone tower on a farm in the Alexandria area.
Police spokesperson, captain Mali Govender, says the deceased was 25-year-old Reginald Cloete of Cape Town.
She says Cloete was part of a team working on a cellular network tower located on the farm Stillewater, Boknesstrand in the district of Alexandria.
"It is alleged that the deceased was busy with maintenance to a structure on the tower about 25 metres from the ground when the structure broke off, resulting in him plummeting to his death," she said.
"An ambulance was called to the scene and he was declared dead on the scene by the ambulance personnel."
Govender say an inquest docket has been opened and is being investigated by the Alexandria Police.
