A 43-year-old man from Motherwell in Nelson Mandela Bay was electrocuted in his home on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says Siyabonga Masele Bom was busy connecting electrical wires in his house when he was electrocuted.
He died on the scene.
Police warned community members not to tamper with electrical wires in and around their homes unless they are qualified electricians.
Beetge also added that it was illegal to connect to the main electrical grid without the Municipal authority to do so.
He says police are still investigating to establish if Bom was attempting to do just that.
