A 34-year-old man is expected to appear in the Grahamstown Magistrates Court in Makhanda on Monday after he allegedly killed a man who attacked him with a knife.
It is alleged that the man and a 12-year-old child were walking home from a party in the early hours of Sunday morning when three men overpowered them.
According to police, the man managed to overpower his attacker and stabbed him several times in the chest.
The two other attackers fled the scene when the minor starting screaming for help.
The alleged attacker was rushed to hospital where he later died.
The man who was arrested will be charged with murder as well as contravening the Disaster Management Act for not being at home during curfew.
