Man behind bars for allegedly raping Graaff-Reinet girl

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in Graaff-Reinet for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Norman Holtzhausen says the man allegedly approached the girl as she was walking home from a gaming centre late Saturday night.

He says the man took the girl to the Lincoln high school grounds where he allegedly raped her.

Holtzhausen says the suspect is expected to appear in the Graaff-Reinet Magistrate's Court on Monday.
