Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of house robbery after at least five armed men attacked a 60-year-old man in his farmhouse at Krakeel near Joubertina on Thursday evening.
Spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli says it is alleged that the men, one of them armed with a firearm and others with unknown weapons, stormed into the house at around 6 pm.
He says the victim was held at gunpoint and locked up inside a walk-in safe.
The suspects started to ransack the house, but were interrupted when the victim’s wife activated the alarm.
Nkohli says the suspects managed to flee with two cellphones and a laptop.
No arrests have yet been made.
