Port Elizabeth police have arrested a 26-year old man following a gang-related shooting in the Bloemendal area.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Alwin Labans, says the suspect allegedly fired 4 shots at two schoolboys, aged 17 and 18, from Bertrum High School, but no one was injured.
He says the incident occurred about 2 kilometers from ongoing protest action in Jacksonville and Timothy Valley adding that the shooting had nothing to do with the protest.
Meanwhile, Labans says a 21-year-old man was arrested for a gang related shooting in Bloemendal on Monday.
He says the alleged shooter fired eight shots at a 32-year old man who miraculously escaped unharmed.
Police are investigating cases of attempted murder.
