Man and woman arrested in Grahamstown for possession of Mandrax

A 27-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman will appear in the Grahamstown Magistrate's court on Thursday on drugs charges following their arrest last night in two unrelated cases. 

Captain Mali Govender says they were arrested at their homes in Joza township, Grahamstown, after members of the Joza crime prevention unit followed up on information received. 

Each suspect faces a charge of  possession of Mandrax after 306 tablets valued at R23 000 were confiscated by police. 

Captain Govender says 8 030 rand in cash was also seized during the arrest of the woman.
