Three people were killed in two separate accidents reported by the Eastern Cape Transport Department on Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson, Unathi Binqose, says a man and three-month-old child died in a collision on the R-58 at the Sterkspruit junction towards Maletswai, formerly Aliwal North.
The second fatal accident was reported on the N2 near Butterworth on Wednesday morning, where the driver of a car was killed in a collision with a truck.
Two occupants in the truck were not injured.
Binqose says culpable homicide dockets have been opened in both cases.
