The 32-year-old suspect who is facing a string of charges, including rape, kidnapping and attempted murder, in the Hankey district farm attack case of March last year has denied all claims that he was the attacker.
Sibenzile Simane's testimony was heard in the PE High Court today.
He was called to the stand by his defence attorney after the State concluded its case last week.
Simane also denied that he was the attacker in a Pantensie house-breaking, near Hankey in February last year, despite the fact that his DNA was found at both crime scenes as per the testimony from a forensic expert.
He claimed he was working on a farm in Kimberley and had only returned to Hankey on Friday the 23rd of March last year.
Simane said police had planted his DNA.
Last week, forensic analyst Kirstie Heyns testified that DNA found at the crime scene had been positively matched with that of Simane who is accused of shooting and raping a 44-year-old woman in front of her three children in March last year.
Closing arguments in the case will be heard at 2 pm.
