A 19-year-old learner is expected to appear in the Butterworth Magistrates Court on Monday on a charge of attempted murder.
His arrest follows after he allegedly stabbed another schoolboy with a spoon.
Police Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha says the incident happened inside the school premises at Zangwa Village on Thursday whilst they were receiving their lunch.
It is alleged that an argument broke out over food and the accused then grabbed his spoon and violently stabbed his fellow learner.
The victim was taken to hospital in Butterworth but was transferred to a hospital in East London.
