Malian musician Salif Keita has jetted into East London.
He makes his Eastern Cape debut at the fourth annual Buyel' Ekhaya festival at the Buffalo City rugby stadium this weekend.
Keita is also known for his activism against xenophobia and raising awareness about albinism, having been ostracised as a youngster for being an albino.
Keita told reporters that South Africa is also a beacon of hope in helping to address many of the ills on the African continent.
