The firearms case against EFF leader Julius Malema and co-accused Adriaan Snyman has been postponed again in the East London Regional Court.
The charges against the two stem from an incident during the EFF's fifth birthday celebrations in East London in 2018, where Malema is seen in a video discharging what appears to be an automatic weapon.
The organisation, AfriForum, laid the charges against him and Snyman, said to be his bodyguard.
The National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson in the Eastern Cape, Luxolo Tyali, says the case against the EFF leader was postponed to the 23rd of January next year.
He says Malema's attorney was not available due to his commitments at the Life Esidemeni Commission.
Malema has pleaded not guilty to five charges brought against him.
His co-accused is facing a single charge of Contravening the Firearms Control Act.
In the years leading up to the trial, Malema's legal team has argued that the gun used in the video was a toy.
