EFF leader Julius Malema made a brief appearance in the East London Regional Court on Wednesday for allegedly firing shots at the party's fifth Anniversary celebration in Mdantsane in July of last year.
A small group of his supporters were in court to support him.
The matter was postponed to the 24th of February next year for Malema's team to get copies of the docket.
Malema cut a relaxed figure as he left the court building, taking time to greet journalists and EFF members gathered outside.

Following last year's incident, AfriForum laid charges against Malema, alleging that he had used an assault rifle.
AfriForum's Head of Community Safety, Ian Cameron said they wanted to see the EFF leader prosecuted for discharging a firearm randomly in a built-up public area and without good reason.
One of Malema's Johannesburg based Defence attorneys Wikus Steyl told Algoa FM News that the weapon his client was using was not a real gun.
