Two employees at Makro were suspended on Friday morning after footage emerged of them allegedly assaulting a learner outside Westering High school.
According to an eyewitness, who filmed the altercation and sent it to Algoa FM news, the Grade 11 learner was at the school to pick up his report card.
The men, who can be seen wearing their Makro uniforms, allegedly accused the teenager of driving badly.
It is not sure what exactly the learner did, but a concerned parent said she heard the child saying "Uncle you pushed in front of me".
One of the men allegedly slapped the child a few times, prior to the video recording being made.
The Marketing Director for Makro SA Andre Steyn told Algoa FM news that the two staff members were suspended with immediate effect after the video was brought to their attention.
He says a formal investigation will now follow.
The victim has since made contact with Algoa FM news and said a charge has been laid with SAPS. He also requested us to remove the video which we have done.
Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu confirmed that a charge of assault was laid against one of the men.
