The water woes of the Makana Municipality will come under the spotlight today at a meeting of the Eastern Cape Provincial Water Forum.
The Forum is chaired by Local Government MEC, Mlibo Qoboshiyane.
He says during the meeting in East London, water experts will table presentations on the intervention currently underway in the Makana Municipality, following water outages in Grahamstown recently.
Qoboshiyne says other issues that will come under the spotlight include the implementation of the National Water Resource Strategy and the eradication of bucket toilets.
The Eastern Cape has been allocated 299 million rand over the next two financial years for the eradication of bucket sanitation in government's 2014/2015 budget.
