The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal Council has approved the extension of major sport sponsorships for the Chippa United Football Club, the Ironman African Championships, Lifesaving National Championships and Surf Pro Series.
The Metro says a total of R6-million per annum has been approved for the next three years for Chippa United.
It says the relocation agreement will be reviewed in line with some clauses of the current agreement and support in the amount of R7-million, plus annual inflation - including an additional R500 000 for marketing.
The Council approved that the Ironman African Championships and Lifesaving National Championships contracts be extended by one year from 2022 to 2023, while the NMB Surf Pro Series contract will be extended by one year to 2021.
The Council approved the sponsorships as follows:
NMB Surf Pro Series 2020-2021: R800 000
Ironman African Championships 2022-2023: R6 765 120
Lifesaving National Championships 2022-2023: R1.2million, all excluding VAT.
