Avbob Mutual Assurance Society and Touch Africa have handed over a brand new container library valued at R300 000 to a disadvantaged Port Elizabeth school.
Learners from BJ Mnyanda Primary School in Kwazakhele received the library at the official hand over on Wednesday.
This is the 16th library installed and the campaign aims to roll out a further 14 libraries to disadvantaged schools around the country
Speaking at the hand over, Student Governing Body chairperson, Deon Msimanga, expressed gratitude for the library on behalf of the parents.
"We will make sure as parents and teachers the library is being used, by giving a library to our kids means a lot and by teaching a kid to read they are taking a kid somewhere. We are very much appreciative and we are promising that this library will be used and we will take care of it." says Msimanga.
