Cabinet members, senior government officials and other dignitaries will be attending the funeral of Epainette Mbeki, who will be laid to rest in the village of Ngcingwana at Dutywa on Saturday.
The 98-year-old mother for former president Thabo Mbeki, died recently in hospital after an illness.
Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa, will stand in for President Jacob Zuma at the funeral and deliver the eulogy.
Ramaphosa will be accompanied by the Minister in the Presidency, Jeff Radebe.
Senior Eastern Cape government officials will also be in attendance at the official provincial funeral.
