M-bay Megafest will no longer take place this weekend

Organisors of the M-Bay Megafest say they will be issuing a statement on the status of the concert, which was scheduled for this weekend at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

In a posting on their facebook page, organisors Zeranza says they are aware of the negative media publicity and the confusion about the concert.

They've also appealed to the public not panic either way, adding that Zeranza is committed to open, transparent communication.

However, Nelson Mandela Bay stadium management say as far as they are concerned the concert is not going to happen this weekend.

Spokesperson, Buli Ngomane, says they're experiencing operational challenges.

"From the stadium operator's side we have postponed the concert, we can only give a future date once we have consulted with the client, obviously that depends on our line up and we still have to have that meeting with the client. I will be able to comment further once that has happened, but it is definitely postponed and will not be happening this weekend" Ngomane said
