Five people killed on Eastern Cape roads in the past 24 hours

Five people were killed and five others injured in road accidents in the Eastern Cape in the past 24 hours.
Provincial traffic department spokesperson, Tsepo Machaya, says four people were killed in a head on smash between a car and truck near Dutywa on Sunday night.
All the victims were in the car.
Machaya says a pedestrian was knocked down and killed by a truck on the R-61 between Lusikisiki and Flagstaff.
He says five people were injured when a car overturned near Mooiplaas on Monday morning.
