A 43-year-old local man from Jeffreys Bay is missing at sea after his sea kayak capsized at Walskipper on Sunday.
Spokesperson for the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Craig Lambinon says the J'Bay duty crew was activated following reports of a double sea kayak that capsized at Paradise Beach.
He says various role-players responded to the scene.
Lambinon says upon arrival it was determined that one of the men had managed to swim to shore and was safe and not injured.
He says an extensive sea and shoreline search revealed no sign of the missing man.
Lambinon says the search for the missing man continues.
The men's kayak that was semi-submerged in the ocean has since been recovered.
The name of the missing man was not divulged to the media.
