Mthatha police are investigating the murder of a local businessman who was shot dead in his car outside his business premises on Tuesday morning.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela, says the 41-year-old businessman had just arrived at his bottle store in Vulindlela Heights when a lone gunman opened fire on his car.
He says the man was shot through the window and died on the scene.
Fatyela says the gunman fled in a white Nissan NP 300 bakkie.
