Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality says the normal load shedding schedule will be implemented on Wednesday evening following an agreement that ended the strike in the Electricity and Energy Directorate.
Residents were spared load shedding on Tuesday and most of Wednesday after City announced that officials in the Directorate had embarked on a go-slow.
Members of the South African Municipal Workers Union have been making demands regarding a scarce skills allowance which is being discontinued and other issues affecting workers in the Municipality.
In a statement on Wednesday, Executive mayor, Retief Odendaal, said the City Manager has codified the agreed to decisions and staff have agreed to return to work.
“This does, however, mean the dreaded normal load shedding schedules will once again be in effect from this evening,” he said.
