Lenghty jail sentences for two Eastern Cape rapists

A 23-year- old Kirkwood man has been sentenced to 23 years imprisonment in the Grahamstown High Court for raping a 10-year-old girl in October last year.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei says the victim and her little brother were playing in front of a tavern in Kirkwood while their father and Vivian Byman were drinking inside.
He says they were lured away by Byman to his house, where he strangled both children.
Seekoei says the boy manage to escape and alerted the father, while Byman raped the little girl.
In another case, a 52-year-old KwaNobuhle man was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Tuesday.
Seekoei says Shadrick Blaauw raped a family member in 2011.
He says the victim was 4 years old at the time of the incident.
