An Eastern Cape learner was killed and 11 other children were injured when a taxi crashed on the R67 between Queenstown and Whittelsea on Thursday morning.
Police warrant officer Namhla Mdleleni says the taxi was dropping children off at various schools in the area when the accident happened.
The driver appeared to lose control of the taxi which overturned and landed in a ditch. The injured passengers and driver, some of them seriously hurt, where all admitted to hospital.
Mdleleni says the age of the deceased is not know, but confirmed it was a boy.
