Knysna police have arrested a learner driver who allegedly tried to bribe a traffic officer after failing his driver's license test.
The municipality says the traffic officer notified his superiors and when the suspect was confronted he fled only to be arrested later.
He is due to appear in court shortly.
Knysna mayor, Georlene Wolmarans, praised the quick action of traffic authorities while municipal manager, Lauren Waring, says a driver who is not licensed properly puts the lives of others in danger.
