A school in an impoverished community of the Eastern Cape is all the poorer after thieves stole computers, televison sets and other goods worth nearly R30,000.
Police spokesperson, captain Jackson Manatha, says a 52 year old security guard at the New Horizon High School in Mgxaki Township in Butterworth was held up by two gunmen last night.
He says the security guard was allegedly forced to open the computer room from where the items were stolen.
Manatha has appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
