Seven by-elections will take place in the Eastern Cape next week.
The Independent Electoral Commission released the list of candidates contesting in Free State, Limpopo, Kwazulu Natal, Gauteng and Western Cape on Friday.
In the Eastern Cape, by-elections take place in Lady Frere, Mount Fletcher, Bizana, Ntabankulu and the most eagerly contested Nelson Mandela Bay.
The vacancies in the Metro in Wards 15, 26 and 55 were the result of the deaths of three ANC councillors in an accident in February.
All the major parties have fielded candidates in all three wards.
The by-elections take place on Wednesday.
