George police have confirmed that the person who was killed when his vehicle plunged down the notorious cliff at Voëlklip near Herolds Bay on Wednesday has been identified.
Spokesperson Sergeant Chris Spies says the 52-year-old man from Port Elizabeth's name is being withheld at his family's request.
The victim, whose name is known to AlgoaFM News, was seen by eye-witnesses on Wednesday morning driving a white Ford EcoSport over the cliff.
Police spotted the wreckage in the ocean and noticed his body lying on the rocks at the bottom of the cliff.
The man is the 9th person to be killed in Voëlklip.
Police say no foul play is suspected.
