The Department of Water and Sanitation (DWA) says the combined average of dam levels in the Eastern Cape this week has dropped to 56.6% from 56.9%.
Spokesperson Sputnik Ratau says the area of most concern is the Amathole District Municipality where the drought is still visible.
Current Dam Levels:
Rooikrantz Dam: 53.6%
Xilinxa Dam: 9.2%
Bridle Drift Dam: 43.7%
Nahoon Dam: 72.1%
Nelson Mandela Bay's combined dam level is sitting at 42.6%.
Impofu: 21.6%
Kouga Dam: 44.0%
Loerie Dam 60.2%
Chris Hani District dams are also decreasing gradually.
Macubeni Dam: 85.4%
Xonxa Dam: 95.5%
Waterdown Dam: 35.3%
DWS is encouraging communities to adhere to water restrictions issued by their municipalities and report water leakages.
