Buffalo City Municipality says there are still areas in the Metro that are not receiving water.
It says little or no pumping is still taking place at Water Treatment Works due to the ongoing strike by Amatola Water Board employees.
The Metro says this affects huge areas, as the radius covers almost 60 percent of the region.
It says it is engaging with the Amatola Water Board leadership and it has been reported that engagements are now at Minister's level.
The Amatola Water Board management is expected to receive a briefing at 14:00 on Sunday.
The Municipality says it is dispatching water tankers to the affected areas and consumers are requested to use water sparingly.
