Members of the Oudtshoorn cluster K-9 unit have arrested three people and seized dagga and counterfeit cigarettes valued at nearly R700,000.

Southern Cape police spokesperson captain Malcolm Pojie said in the first incident, police seized dagga worth an estimated R150,000 hidden in the wheel well of a car.

The suspect was arrested and appeared in court in Uniondale where he is being held until his bail hearing on Monday.

In the second incident, the same members arrested two men for the illegal posession and transportation of counterfeit cigarettes.

Captain Pojie says they were also remanded in custody until the 5th of June.
