Port Elizabeth police have confiscated dagga with an estimated street value of R1.2-million in Kwadesi.
Spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu says the Uitenhage Dog Unit received information about a vehicle transporting a large amount of dagga from the Transkei to Port Elizabeth.
Gwavu says the dog unit, together with Kwadwesi police were activated, and a white Colt bakkie was spotted in the area where it stopped to offload the dagga.
Twenty six bags of dagga of around 377 kilograms were found in the vehicle.
Gwavu says a 43-year old man was arrested at the scene, and the bakkie together with the dagga were confiscated.
The suspect will appear in the New Brighton magistrates court on Monday.
