Three women are expected to appear in the Knysna Magistrates Court on Monday following their arrest for possession of expensive bottles of stolen champagne.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Christopher Spies says the women aged between 24 and 45 were arrested on Thursday on the N2 at the turnoff to Buffalo Bay.
He says police received a tip-off and acted on the information and pulled over the women's silver Volkswagen Polo.
Sergeant Spies says when they searched the vehicle they found 12 bottles of expensive Moët and Chandon French champagne with some, positively linked to a local bottle store.
The women also had a large handbag in the car that they allegedly used to stock up on stolen goods.
Sergeant Spies says the women are all from the Cape Metropole and were en route to Cape Town.
