The Kouga Municipality has acknowledged that it is in receipt of a petition presented to Mayor Booi Koerat in Jeffrey's Bay on Friday morning ,and will respond to it within two weeks.
Some 600 concerned residents marched down Da Gama street to the municipal building under the banner 100 reasons March.
Central to their concerns are the lack of infrastructure maintenance which left the area without power for three days during the festive season, resulting in irate holiday makers packing their bags and heading for home.
During the hand over of a petition, a women was grabbed by the arm and pushed away by Municipal Manager Sydney Fadi.
A security guard intervened and broke up the scuffle.
Kouga Municipality spokesperson Laura-Leigh Randall said some of the marchers tried to force the Mayor to stand in front of their posters and banners so that he could be photographed with them in the background. They were asked to refrain from doing so but refused to move away, hence the scuffle.
