One of the five housebreaking suspects, that were recently arrested by members from the Great Brak River police, after stolen goods were found in their vehicle on the N2 Highway, is a teacher at a primary school in Knysna.
The five suspects appeared in the Great Brak River Magistrate Court on Tuesday after police members found housebreaking implements in their vehicle during a roadblock search.
It came to light that one of the suspects is a teacher at a primary school in Knysna.
The suspect applied for bail but this was denied. In the meantime stolen goods in the vehicle were positively linked with housebreakings in the Great-Brak River area. One of the suspects pleaded guilty on a charge of theft and was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment. The possibility exists that the accused will perhaps testify against the four other suspects. They remain in custody and will appear again in court on the 18th August.
