Knysna Police have welcomed the prison sentences handed down to two robbery suspects.
Thirty six year-old Sipho Ning and 28-year-old Luvuyo Mdatyelwa were each sentenced in the Knysna Regional court recently to ten years imprisonment of which two years were suspended for five years.
They roughed up a 68-year old woman at the Old Fabriek store in Main Street, Knysna in May 2012 and stole a laptop before fleeing on foot.
They were arrested a short while later.
Knysna police station management says the sentences should act as a stern warning that robbers will be arrested and brought to book.
