The Knysna Municipality has once more urged residents to use water sparingly.
The chairperson of the Municipality's Planning, Infrastructure and Development Committee, Louisa Hart, says while they're not faced with a crisis as yet, if water usage is not reduced, Knysna could face a serious problem.
Hart says when load-shedding occurs the situation deteriorates even further was the power outages affects the Municipality's raw water pump stations.
According to Knysna Municipality the Akkerkloof Dam is dropping at an alarming rate of almost 2.5% a week.
Hart says strict water restrictions will apply, adding that municipal law enforcement officers will be conducting spot checks and fines will be issued to people breaching the restrictions.
