Knysna man in court for murder following late night incident

A 23 year old Knysna man is expected to appear in the town's Magistrate's court on Tuesday on a charge of murder.

Police spokesperson, Captain Bernadine Steyn says the suspect allegedly grabbed a 22-year old man by the collar and drove off in a bakkie while still holding on to him in the early hours of Sunday morning. 

She says the younger man fell and landed under one of the bakkie's wheels. 

Steyn says the seriously injured man was taken to a local hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

The suspect was arrested at his house later in the day.
