The Knysna Municipality has appointed attorneys to oppose the review application that some Knysna homeowners have filed in the Cape Town High Court.
The Knysna Ratepayers Association earlier served notice of the court action to set aside a Municipal decision to allow a Mosque to be built in the town centre.
According to Ratepayers Association spokesperson, Ian Uys, the decision contravenes the Municipality's own by-laws.
Uys said the objection is based on the fact that there is not enough parking space and that the proposed area consists of a small street in the center of Knysna. Knysna Acting Municipal Manager, Mike Maughan-Brown, told Algoa FM News that they will oppose the review.
