Animal rights activists gathered outside the Knysna Magistrates Court on Thursday, where six men are appearing in connection with a long-running dog fighting case.
The six men, from PE, East London and Queenstown, were part of a group of 10 men arrested during a police raid on a property in Ladywood outside Plettenberg Bay in 2011 where illegal dog fights were held.
Witnesses testified earlier that during the bust they found two dogs fighting in a massive blood-splattered wooden cage in the lounge of the home on the property.
In May, several co-accused were sentenced to fines or jail time after pleading guilty.
The case, against the six, was postponed to Friday for further witnesses to be called.
