Knysna couple in isolation after testing positive for Covid-19

A couple from Knysna who tested positive for Coronavirus and now under self-isolation for 21 days has spoken about the difficulty in facing up to the deadly virus.

DA Councillor Peter Myers and his wife Candace had recently returned from a trip to Switzerland to attend a wedding but their trip was cut short as European countries tightened controls.

Candace says after cutting their holiday short they returned home, asymptomatic, but decided to self-isolate as a precaution.

However, she says upon their return they both started to display symptoms and contacted their GP.

The couple is currently in their 6th day of isolation and will continue to be for at least another two weeks, and longer if required.

Candace told friends on her Facebook page that she has not even hugged her 12-year-old daughter since their return.

She also cannot visit her mother who is in a high care facility after having a stroke.

The Myers says their symptoms included severe fever and body chills as well as body aches and headaches.

The family urged others to practice social distancing.
