Knysna police have arrested 557 suspects during various operations in May.
Spokesperson, Captain Malcolm Pojie says some of the arrests were made during well planned crime prevention operations, stop-and-search operations, searches for outstanding wanted suspects and general high density patrols.
The suspects were arrested for various crimes, including 87 for drug related offences and 20 for drunk driving.
Pojie says 12 suspects were apprehended for possession of dangerous weapon and 20 for possession of suspected stolen property.
