A 56-year-old man was killed on Wednesday night in an accident on a farm at Kirkwood.
Police Warrant Officer Gerda Swart says the man was busy spraying the orchards with insecticide when he stopped his tractor to inspect a problem with the sprayer machine.
Swart says it appears that the tractor was left idling and that the man's jacket was caught in the drive shaft.
The victim, identified as Wellington Breakfast, was pulled into the machine and died on the scene.
